Your Look Inside The World Of Tennis From a Players Perspective
  • Querrey trying to put 'US' back in Open (AP)
Venus Williams says 30 is the new 20. Sam Querrey likes to think 20 could be No. 1. Thirty-year-old Williams is talking about age, and No. 20 Querrey is talking about seeding, but both are talking about the same thing when it comes to the U.S. Open. They'd like to be the ones to put America back on top at its own national championship.
  • Stosur wins latest women's Open match (AP)
Australia's Sam Stosur won the latest-finishing women's match in U.S. Open history, erasing four match points and coming back to beat 2004 runner-up Elena Dementieva of Russia 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (2) in the fourth round. There were 15 service breaks in the 2-hour, 38-minute match that officially ended at 1:35 a.m.

Sacramento Tennis News

Odesnik bagels the 6'10" Isner in the last set after losing the first in tie breaker.

The official score was 6-7 6-1 6-0 and Wayne Odesnik was victorious.

The incredible thing about the match was after receiving the massive serve of Isner and being off balance on many points, Odesnik fought his way back to neutral positioning with 2-3 shots and a couple more to put the balls out of Isner's 6'10" reach.

Odesnik's concentration & fight was simply incredible. Today is going to be a good match between Odesnik & Young who moves like a cat and has the fastest reflexes. Hope you guys make it and get to watch it. Have a great tennis week-end!
